Mr. Stokesbury currently focuses his practice in the area of real estate transactional law with emphasis on lender representation in commercial real estate financing transactions, including SBA 7(a) and 504 loans on behalf of local community banks, commercial leasing, and conveyancing.
Mr. Stokesbury is a graduate of Yale University (B.A. 1981) and Boston University School of Law (J.D. 1984).
Mr. Stokesbury is admitted to the Connecticut Bar (1984), U.S. District Court, District of Connecticut (1985), and the United States Supreme Court (1990). He is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association. He serves on the Connecticut Bar Association Standing Committee on Standards of Title and the Executive Committee of the Connecticut Bar Association Real Property Section.
Mr. Stokesbury resides in Avon, Connecticut. He has served as an elected member of the Avon Town Council and the Avon Board of Education. He is a past president of the Avon Historical Society and a past trustee of the Avon Land Trust.
Ross G. Fingold, Esq. practices in the areas of commercial and financial litigation and commercial financing, including secured and unsecured loan transactions. He has extensive experience in real estate litigation, loan workouts and restructuring, commercial and residential foreclosures, lender liability defense, bankruptcy, and insolvency. He has handled trials on all types of commercial matters, including landlord-tenant disputes, bankruptcy (including adversary proceedings, relief from stay motions and fraudulent conveyances) and injunctions, replevins, and prejudgment remedy requests. Mr. Fingold is a frequent panelist and lecturer before private and professional organizations on various commercial financing, litigation, foreclosure and real estate related matters.
He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania (B.A. 1978, Cum Laude) and Syracuse University College of Law (J.D. 1981, Cum Laude). Prior to joining Stokesbury, Shipman & Fingold, LLC, Mr. Fingold spent 5 years as a Partner at Shipman, Stokesbury & Fingold LLC. For the ten years prior, he was a Partner at Levy & Droney, P.C. where he was Chair of the Banking Law Department and fifteen years at Schatz & Schatz, Ribicoff & Kotkin where he was a Partner and Co-Chair of the Financial Litigation Department.
He has been active in several civic and charitable organizations and is a member of the Board of Governors of the Northern and Southern New England Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation.
Mr. Fingold is a resident of South Glastonbury. He is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association and a Member of the Commercial Law and Bankruptcy section of the Connecticut Bar Association.
